Methods of manufacturing the housing, housing components and device, manufacturing kit and device
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to methods for manufacturing a housing and its components and a device according to the independent claims set out below. The invention also relates to a housing manufacturing kit and device.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Enclosures are manufactured in various ways. However, there is room for improvement.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention is to reduce or even eliminate the problems occurring in the prior art.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a component assembly housing which is durable, watertight, dustproof, difficult to open without permission and without visible fasteners. The aim is to provide an inexpensive housing that can be easily manufactured, even in small series. It is also intended to provide a housing which can be sent to the place of use in parts and which can always be assembled as required. One object is to provide a housing that is openable and reusable. One of the aims is to provide a new type of enclosure solution that is suitable for the production of both small and large enclosures. g g 25 One object is to provide a new type of housing for a device, in particular for a device containing 2 electrical components. One object is to provide an electronic device with a better housing. 3 |
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION In order to achieve the above-mentioned objects, among other things, the invention is characterized by what is set forth in the appended independent claims.
The application examples and advantages mentioned in this text apply mutatis mutandis to the methods, manufacturing set and device according to the invention as well as to other objects of the invention, although it is not always mentioned separately.
In a typical method according to the invention for manufacturing housing components, a plate-like material is treated. By plate-like in this context is meant that the material is relatively thin in one direction, i.e. in the direction of its thickness, compared to its other directions, i.e. in the direction of its plane. The plate-like material has two surfaces parallel to its plane. The surfaces can be straight and parallel to each other, so that the plate-like material is smooth and of equal thickness. The invention is also suitable for use with uneven and indirect plate-like materials. The method comprises at least the following steps: - coating at least a part of the sheet-like material with at least one surface with double-sided tape; - machining at least two sheet-like components with two surfaces and edges of the sheet-like material, at least one of which is machined from the tape-coated sheet-like material, - machining the storage space into at least one component; In order to form a housing containing a storage space, the components can be fastened - to each other from their surfaces by means of said tape.
With the method according to the invention, a housing> manufacturing set according to the invention can be manufactured. It comprises at least two plate-like components with two surfaces N and edges. A storage space is formed in at least one component. At least one component S25 is covered with double-sided tape, the components 2 being attachable to each other from their surfaces by means of said tape so that said storage space E is formed inside the housing.
In a typical method according to the invention for the manufacture of a housing,> 30 housing components manufactured according to the invention are used. In the method, at least two plate-like components are attached to each other from their surfaces. At least one component is covered with double-sided tape and a storage space is formed in at least one component. The components are fastened to each other by means of said tape so as to form a housing within which said storage space is located. The invention thus makes it possible to produce a housing formed as described above from two or more plate-like components which are fastened to one another with double-sided tape.
Thus, it has now been found that a housing, for example a housing for an electronic device, can be manufactured easily and quickly by machining components of sheet-like material and gluing them together on top of each other. This results in a housing that is thicker than the original plate-like material. The more components are glued on top of each other, the higher the housing. According to the invention, the gluing is performed with double-sided tape. The tape is attached to at least a part of the sheet-like material even before it is processed into structural parts. Thus, when cutting the components, the tape with which the component is coated is also cut. In this way, the tape used to fasten the components together automatically forms on the component as it is machined. The tape automatically shapes to conform to the shape of the piece, and no manual shaping or finishing is required.
The surface of the double-sided tape which is not attached to the component has a cover on the adhesive, such as paper, plastic or the like, which is removed before the components are attached to each other. Components that are not attached in this way and are covered with a sticker do not accidentally stick to anything. Such N components and housing manufacturing kits according to the invention can be transported in parts, for example, to their final place of use, to a customer or to a shop. At the desired time 2, the end user can remove the covers from the adhesives of the tapes and perform the assembly of the housing or device E, without the need for special tools.
3 S Double-sided tape is easy and quick to use as a fastener. The tape improves the appearance of 9 30 finished products by eliminating the need for rivets, screws or other mechanical fasteners. The adhesive in the tape may be, for example, an acrylic adhesive.
Double-sided tape and its use are known per se, and its properties are not discussed in more detail here.
The plate-like material can be, for example, plastic, wood, metal.
Examples of suitable materials are PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate, acrylic), PC (polycarbonate), foamcore, plywood, glulam, steel, aluminum.
In one embodiment of the invention, the sheet-like material is machined with one of the following components: laser cutting, water jet cutting, NC machining, cutting machining method.
These and other suitable machining methods are known per se and will not be described in more detail here.
In one embodiment of the invention, the housing and its manufacturing kit comprise at least three superimposable components.
For example, the housing may consist of two end components and a storage component to be attached between them.
In one embodiment of the invention, the storage space is machined into one or more components intended to be central in the housing by removing material from the entire thickness of the component.
In one application, material is removed from at least one component from its center portion, leaving edges in the component that are intended to form part of the housing.
The edges can rotate the entire component, leaving storage space in the middle.
The edges may also be formed from any transparent section, for example of the U-shape, wherein the finished casing March 25 open part of the structure of the part, formed by connecting the outside of the housing and the storage compartment opening. In one embodiment of the invention, at least one component is machined into a storage space = by forming a recess in the surface of the component which does not pass through the plate-like component S.
Such a hole-free component can be used, for example, as the outermost part of the housing 9, i.e. as the end component.
In one embodiment of the invention, the housing has end components and there are two or more middle components between them and they are substantially identical to each other and are fastened to each other. If such a plurality of components all have a storage part of the same shape, a storage part with a thickness of several components is made to form between the ends 5. This makes even the largest thing to be stored fit inside the case. Some of the components may be coated with tape, some may be without tape. Typically, tape is only needed for one of the opposing surfaces. For example, if the housing consists of two end components and a storage component to be attached between them, two tape-coated surfaces are required. In this case, the tape may be a) on both surfaces facing both storage compartments, b) on both surfaces of the storage compartment component, c) at one end and on the surface intended for the other end of the storage compartment component.
The components to be fastened together can be of different shapes or sizes. In this case, the tape may be in a smaller component. The surface of the component may be only partially covered with tape. The amount and position of the tape can be used to control the strength of the gluing. In this way, for example, a once-closed housing can be arranged to be reopened and possibly reused.
D N In a typical method according to the invention for manufacturing a device 3, at least one 2 electrical component is placed in the storage space of the housing to be manufactured according to the invention. The device according to the invention thus comprises a housing assembled from a manufacturing set according to the invention and at least one electrical component arranged in the storage space of the housing. O
O 9 30 Double-sided tape makes it easy to make the housing water- and / or dust-tight or even gas-tight. The electrical components are easily attached to the housing securely by arranging double-sided tape on one of the inner walls of its storage space.
The housing is thus suitable as a housing for electronic devices for different conditions.
In one embodiment of the invention, the device comprises an accelerometer, a radio transmitter and a microcontroller operatively connected to each other in a storage space.
Such a device can serve as a sensor for many different purposes.
One possible application is patient or other human monitoring.
When attached to a patient, the device can send information about the patient's position and movement to the receiver.
By comparing this information with the reference values, conclusions can be drawn, for example, about the patient's = location, state of health and level of alertness.
Based on the comparison, measures can be taken, if necessary, such as giving an alarm or otherwise contacting the medical staff, relatives or the patient.
The storage space of the housing can be, for example, an RFID (Radio Freguency IDentification) device, an NFC (Near Field Communication) device, an LED (Light Emitting Diode), an electronic display device, a speaker or other sound source, a battery or accumulator.
In one embodiment of the invention, the housing is partially, for example, transparent or transparent at one end.
In this case, e.g.
The light produced by the LED or the electronic display is visible through the housing, ie the device can communicate its status visually.
In one embodiment of the invention, alignment holes are formed in at least two components, preferably in all housing components, for aligning the components in the correct position N.
In the finished housing, the alignment holes are aligned. 3 25 The same or similar openings can also serve as a fastening means for the housing or device 2.
For example, a cable tie, wire or other fastening means can be arranged through the openings, with which the housing can be fastened in the desired place. 3 S The housing achieved by the invention is ideally suited for the storage of relatively small items.
For example, it can form a medicine box that is not possible to open or tamper with.
The invention is also well suited for the manufacture of large enclosures.
Several different sheet-like materials and different tapes can be used in one housing. For example, the end components of the housing may be of a different material or color than the middle components. Attaching different materials may require the use of different tapes at different points in the case.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying schematic drawing, in which Figure 1 shows a sheet-like material and double-sided tape according to the invention, Figure 2 shows the sheet-like material of Figure 1 when coated with double-sided tape as parts of the housing, Fig. 3b - shows the housing of Fig. 3a assembled, Fig. 4a - shows the housing according to another invention in parts, Fig. 4b - shows the housing of Fig. 4a partially assembled and equipped with electronics, Fig. 4c - shows the device according to the invention, i.e. the housing of Fig. 4b assembled.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EXAMPLES OF THE FIGURES For the sake of clarity, the same reference numerals are used in different figures and embodiments for some corresponding parts.
D N Figure 1 shows a sheet-like material, i.e., for example, acrylic sheet 1 and 3 25-sided tape 2. In the example, sheet 1 and tape 2 are rectangular sheets 2 of the same size. The invention can also be implemented with material and tape of different shapes or different sizes. The plate-like material 1 or double-sided = tape 2 or both can be web-like, i.e. in one direction very long or S even the so-called. endless web. S 30 In the situation of Fig. 1, the protective paper has been removed from the tape from the surface facing it, i.e. from the lower surface in the figure. In the figure, a protective paper 3 is left on the upper surface of the tape to prevent the tape from accidentally sticking. The figures do not show how the tape 2 is attached to the upper surface of the plate 1, but then a tape-coated plate is formed. Figure 2 shows a sheet 1 covered with tape 2, which has been machined, for example by laser cutting, several plate-like components 4, 5. Two rows of six end parts 4 and two six rows of middle components between the end parts have been machined into the plate.
5. Two components have been removed from the upper right corner of the image. An outer edge 6 with one edge cut is formed in each end structural part 4. The end component 4 is thus apertured in its central part, cf. e.g., Figure 4a. The middle structural parts 5 are cut in the same shape as the outer edge 7 and with the outer edges 6 of the end structural parts. But the middle structural parts have a second cut inside the outer edge, which forms an inner edge 8. When the plate part 9 remaining inside the inner edge 8 is removed, it is formed in its place - the storage space 10, cf. e.g., Figure 4a. Alignment and mounting holes 11 are formed in one outer corner of both the end components 4 and the middle components 5, between the outer edge 7 and the inner edge 8 of the middle components. It is easy for the device assembler to assemble the housing correctly by aligning these openings. The openings 11 form an opening through the corner of the finished device, which makes it easy to attach the device to the desired location. Figure 3a shows a housing 12 according to the invention in parts and Figure 3b shows the same housing 12 assembled. The housing 12 consists of two mutually shaped 3 end components 4 and three mutually shaped central 2 parts 5 '. The storage compartments 10 of the middle components together form a storage space 10 'three times the height of one component 5' in the finished housing. = The storage spaces 10 of the middle components 5 'are formed open at one edge in the S direction. In the finished housing 12, these open points form a thick aperture September 30 for the three components of the housing 13 of the storage compartment 10 'and the outside of the housing. The slot 13 can be adapted to fit, for example, credit cards or business cards.
Figure 4a shows a housing 14 according to the invention in parts. The housing 14 consists of two mutually shaped end components 4 and one central component 5. The storage compartment 10 of the central component forms a storage space 10 'one height of one component 5 in the finished housing 14. The storage space 10 is closed in all directions at its edge. In the situation of Fig. 4b, electrical components, i.e. a circuit board 16, to which a microcontroller 17, an accelerometer 18 and a battery 19 and a radio transmitter (not shown) are attached, are placed in the storage space 10. It can be seen from the figure that the inner edge 8 of the storage space 10 is shaped to fit on a circuit board. In Figure 4c, the housing 14, i.e. the electrical device 20, is assembled. Since the housing 14 comprises apertured end components 4 and a central component 5 closed in all directions at its edges, the housing can be closed very tightly with double-sided tape.
The parts of Figures 3a and 4a are examples of parts of the housing manufacturing kits according to the invention. If, in addition to the parts of Fig. 4a, the necessary electrical components are included, such as the parts 16, 17, 18 and 19 shown in Fig. 4b, this is an example of the parts of the manufacturing set of the electrical device 20.
The examples of Figures 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b, 4c do not show double-sided tapes separately. The tape must be on at least one other surface to be fastened together between the components to be fastened together. No tape is required on the outwardly facing surfaces of the end components. In the example of Figures 4a, 4b and 4c, it would be advantageous if the inner surface of the lowest N end member is described with tape. In this way, the 3 25 circuit board 16 to be placed against it would be firmly attached.
2 E The invention is not intended to be limited to the examples given, but to the scope = independent claims. The dependent claims present S a few preferred embodiments of the invention. OF
